Practice
In this assignment, we are going to practise recognising the energy of three archetypes in everyday life. The above three major arcana cards represent the following Jungian archetypes:
XVIII The Moon – Your subconscious, the night. Soul stirrings. Shadow sides of yourself.
XII The Hanged Man – Turn your thoughts around. No is yes. You see things with the wrong glasses.
III The Empress – Mother earth, the practical, hands on. Being in contact with nature. Fertility and creativity.
Using these brief descriptions of the archetypes, observe over the next three days in which moments in your life these archetypes play a role. Find three examples with each archetype. In the next lesson, we will discuss some examples.
Some examples:
You feel like caring for another person, this is the mother archetype, the empress.
Suddenly you see a situation from a new point of view, this is the archetype of The Hanged One.
You find another person very annoying, you can’t respond well lovingly, and you find this annoying about yourself. This is where the shadow is at work. The moon.
You may share your experiences in the app group, and you can of course choose to keep your experiences to yourself. Both are fine.
Have fun!
